　猫という生き物は、ほぼ世界中どこにでもいる。家猫のもともとのルーツは、中東にいたリビアヤマネコだそう。ニンゲンが農耕を始めてのち、収穫した作物を荒らすネズミなどの小動物との戦いにおいて、ニンゲンと猫とは共同戦線を張ることになったんだ。

　農耕の伝播にともなって、猫たちも世界中で暮らすようになった。今日は世界各地にいる猫たちの、ある日の風景を切り取った写真をお届けしようと思うんだ。秋の夜長に、じっくりまったり見てくれると嬉しいな。
